Jeuveau is a purified botulinum toxin that is injected into facial muscles to prevent them from flexing when signaled by nerves. This results in the temporary improvement of frown lines that can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months.
Why is Jeuveau Different?
Jeuveau is the newest alternative to Botox® and has many similarities and differences. Both Botox and Jeuveau are purified botulinum toxins used to treat facial wrinkles. One of the main things that set Jeuveau apart is that it uses Hi-Pure™ technology. This means that when the product is being manufactured, it goes through additional steps to purify the botulinum toxins as an extra precautionary. Jeuveau™ is also made exclusively for aesthetic purposes.
What to Expect from your Jeuveau Treatment.
The Jeuveau treatment is done in-office can be as short as 10 to 20 minutes. The procedure is quick, safe, and causes little to no discomfort. There is minimal downtime after, leaving you free to go about your day as usual.
Some side effects may include localized pain, tenderness, inflammation, or swelling. Minor bleeding and/or bruising can take place at the site of the injection.
Most patients require re-treatment to remove noticeable lines and wrinkles as they begin to reappear. However, each subsequent treatment will lessen the severity of noticeable wrinkles.
