Benefits of Medical Marijuana
Medical marijuana is used to manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, anxiety, muscle spasms, and sleep disorders. The two primary components of medical marijuana are THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (Cannabidiol):
- THC: Provides psychoactive effects and is helpful in relieving symptoms such as nausea, appetite loss, and insomnia.
- CBD: Has numerous therapeutic benefits without the psychoactive effects of THC. CBD is commonly used to treat conditions such as epilepsy, anxiety, depression, and cancer-related symptoms.
For patients undergoing chemotherapy or living with chronic pain, medical marijuana can offer relief from debilitating side effects. PTSD patients also benefit from medical marijuana, which can help alleviate many of the symptoms caused by trauma.
Florida Residency Requirements for Medical Marijuana
